Navigating an international landscape characterized by economic restraint and supply-chain realignments, the tequila agro-industry reaffirmed its trade momentum with a 3.6% export bump in the first half of the year. Cross-border volume reached a historic benchmark of 215 million liters, propelled by resilient demand in the United States, steady European consumption, and surging momentum across key Asian hubs.

Data compiled by the Consejo Regulador del Tequila (CRT) shows total production reached 302.1 million liters over the identical window. These figures underscore the national spirit’s competitive muscle in overseas retail, where premium tiers continue to gain traction as high-value, geographically protected goods.

The structural resilience across the agave-tequila network reflects an operational maturity capable of absorbing international volatility. Expanding international distribution channels not only secures foreign exchange inflows for Mexico, but also stimulates agricultural and processing infrastructure throughout the five designated states under the denominación. The immediate priority is maintaining this run-rate against potential tariff swings while diversifying export destinations to mitigate regional concentration risks.
