Jalisco reaffirms its leadership position in Mexico’s foreign trade landscape. During the first quarter of 2026, the state consolidated its rank as the country’s second most dynamic economy in export revenue generation. During this period, the state achieved a major milestone by breaking the $17 billion mark, reaching an exact figure of $17.3775 billion, according to reports from the Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía (INEGI).

Although official data reveals that the electronics and technology industry remains the primary economic pillar—accounting for 79 percent of all state exports—other traditional sectors are gaining invaluable ground. In this regard, Cindy Blanco Ochoa, head of the Secretaría de Desarrollo Económico (Ministry of Economic Development), highlighted the strong performance of export activities and celebrated the beverage sector’s continued notable expansion, which reported a 17 percent growth.

This significant progress demonstrates that the region’s economic diversification is paying off. The strength of the beverage industry, driven by flagship products like tequila as a fundamental engine of growth, reaffirms Jalisco not only as a tech giant but as a highly competitive commercial powerhouse on a global scale.
